Jared had barely reached his room before Beq Ru'fimohp arrived at a run.
“GhumHmoH! Ro’ ‘Iw Sam!” [Lookout! Ro’s looking for blood!]
He was gone again before Jared could ask any more.
Jared looked thoughtful.
Well... it was only a matter of time really. Things had been too bad for too long. They had been on a loosing streak for... what... a few years now? It was only a matter of time before it pushed Ro' over the edge.
He thought carefully. Fighting him wasn't really an option and he wouldn't take a surrender. Jared needed another plan, something that gave Ro his chance to vent his rage without Jared getting his neck broken.
He glanced over at Marie's trunk.
Now... there HAD to be a few useful toys in there. She might be a little upset that he'd looked in her stuff without asking, but it was an emergency. He'd make it up to her somehow. Rig her up a pocket zero-point reactor or something.
He hesitated...
He might need to look out for Leah, too. Technically she was a guest. Everyone else kinda knew the risks of signing on with Ro'. She didn't really have a choice, so it didn't seem quite fair to just leave her to the lions.
This was going to take some careful timing. And a little luck...
