Alligences 1 – Missing Key
by HoD Ro' Matlh & Ne' Leah Vien
Leah made her way quickly to the forward section of the ship. Tell was being kept in an old maintenance storage room that sometimes served as Brig and sometimes guest quarters. She slipped through the access door to the short corridor and hurried along. When she arrived at the bulkhead she hesitated. What if the woman really was a guest of Gerrat and was unwilling to come? Or what if she attacked Leah and raised the alarm?
She knelt nest to the combo pad and was about to key in the combo when she stopped a second time. Something was different. She lay her head flush to the wall and looked.
"Cunning Bastard," she whispered alloud.
The key pad had been lifted ever so slightly so a Maglock panel could be sliped underneath. It would need a certain magnetic swipe card passed over the surface before the key touches would be accepted. If she tried to trigger it now it would probably set off an alarm somewhere. No need to guess who had the key and where he was probably keeping it.
Leah cursed again smacking the console outright. She reached for her weapon to try and shoot the control panel out of pure fustration but steadied her hand over the holster and sighed. Leah was running out of options very fast, she couldn't very well get in to kidnap Tell, and she didn't want to arrive early if the captives made it to the bridge, but if they had.. then they would have the very key she needed.
She had two real options. She could sound the alarm to recapture their former captives and face punishment for failing to secure them or worse be found a traitor and put with them. The second option was she could try and help the captives and face off against the captain, in which she would just have to hope for the captives mercy or a quick death by the hand of her former captain.
Leaning up against the doorway she tried to speak in a undertone that hopefully Tell might hear.
"Tell this is Leah, we are going to get you out of there. Your crew is on their way to take the ship now. If we all get out of this I need a way off this ship for my own protection"
Inside the cell Tell was asleep and unaware but there was no way Leah could know.
Leah moved slightly off the wall and looked at the computer control outlet along the wall for what seemed like ages. She wasn't a hero, and what good would it do for her to just be stuck imprisoned as well.
Leah tapped a few keys softly saying "Intruder Alert" and made her way up to the bridge feeling a heavy heart trying to convince herself it was for another reason.
