Bugging Out – The Buble Bursts

The crew moved quickly back across to the FHew, which hung only meters from the hole in the hangar door. HIchop was last through, having to use his suit to open the hole enough to allow it to pass through. As he climbed into the Hold and glanced behind him to watch the door seal, he thought he caught a glimpse of a small pale face watching them from the abandoned station.
Bruce flung the ship around and out through the narrow entrance from the folded space bubble to the real world. The rear sensors watch as Jared counted down.
"... two ... one... ..."
There was a sensation of movement and the station suddenly dropped out of it's secret world and into plain sight.
"That was rather anticlimactic," Bruce offered. "DO we have to go back and finish the job."
"No," Jared shook his head. "We are close to the gravity well of the star. While it was in the bubble it was protected but now..."
They could see the station was already drifting away from them on a crash course with the sun.
"HoS!" Ro growled, "Give it a shove with the Tractor beam to help it on it's way and then, Helm, get us to a safe distance to watch. I want to make sure it goes in."
And then they had simply flown home. It was a quiet journey, each thinking about what they had gained, or lost. They seemed to have more puzzles than answers. Who or what was that girl? What happened to those things that escaped the station? was all of that technology now lost for good. What else might the Corporation have up their sleeve.
It was thirteen hours later when Jeeves alerted them to radio traffic on a Corporation frequency. Some very powerful people were very upset because their main R&D lab was gone. Some were very angry, others were distressed and a few bankrupted. It was clear the blow had been decisive, but also that the Corporation were now more on their guard.
They arrived back at Starbase Prometheus the next day. Ro' called the crew together for a celebration, but it seemed people's hearts were not really in it. At the end of the first evening Ro' stood up to give a speech.
"Listen to me!" He began making sure everyone had their eyes on him. "Many of you have traveled with me for some time. Some, such as Jared, for my whole life, others such as Tell and Marie, for many years, while others such as Israna have only just set foot inside our home."
"But I smell change. The ship has been crammed to the bilges for many months and for some of you it is not the environment you hoped for. Others are looking to advance their own careers, which is difficult to do on my ship."
"Here is what I will do. Tomorrow morning, I will be flying out on the FHew, on my own, if necessary. Any of you who wish to fly with me are welcome to be on board by then. Any of you who wish to depart for other goals, I will recommend you to your future Commanders. Or perhaps you will pursue your own command. If, however, you simply choose to leave and strike out on your own, I will not challenge you on that either. So whether you choose to stay with the FHew or go out on your own, Qapla!"
OOC: Given there has been absolutely no activity I am going to try and clean up the crew a little bit and allow those who have "dropped off" to leave with good grace. If you wish to stay, and I really hope we all do, please add a short bit below about your character's decision to stay or go. I will give everyone till the new year to respond. Feel free to do posts to discuss it between each other as well.
