Cloak and dagger – Mood Swings
by Soghla' Terri (Tell) Hope & HoD Ro' Matlh & Soghla' Marie St. Helene
Her flaming tides were fluctuating, So her stars had told her for today. What the hell was that supposed to mean? Tell read on her PADD, back and forth, back and forth - sometimes so fast Aries that you seem to be spinning in all directions. Experts call this 'rapid cycling.' It's a marvel that you can appear to be standing still when the mood tides are sloshing back and forth, sometimes sweeping in both directions at once. They call that a 'mixed state.' Which is where you are at the moment Aries.
Aries Love Life.
Someone is thinking very hard about you today Aries. Furtive glances from someone will cause a
sudden reaction. They mean well.
Aries Work Life
Avoid it at all costs, have a day off Aries.

"Load of rubbish." said the engineer to herself who wondered why she had suddenly started to read her stars everyday. "Where the hell would I go on a day off?"
Tells mood refused point blank to improve as she walked into engineering. This damn place was getting to her to much and she decided right there and then, that on the next shore leave she would get as far away from this ship as possible.
She stormed into her engine room. The door opened with only the slightest hint of a hiss and that annoyed her even more. She was used to its scraping sound like a cinder trapped underneath it. How dare it change. If only there was a door to slam, she thought it would make her feel a hell of a lot better.
"Get the engine fixed Tell were sick of limping at warp 3" she mimicked Ro' in a whingy, whiney voice.
"What the hell do you think I am a bloody miracle worker?" Tell answered herself back "Your the damned Captain you fly this rust bucket you call a ship and you keep breaking it. Why is it always me who has to patch things up"
Tell kicked something hard and the sound reverberated through the engine room. "We don't drink with our enemies, and you behaved shamefully." Tell let loose a string of Klingon profanities before going into her workroom to strip off her uniform and don her overalls.
Tell had rigged up a sound system in the engine room recently and played some music at a volume she rather liked. She had discovered a group called Curved Air and if anything could get her out of this foul mood she was in, their heavy rock music could.
She cameout of her work room all set to start on her beloved engine which for some reason was running sweetly, so there must be something wrong with it.
She looked up to see someone standing there and wondered just how much they had heard of her rant.
jaqwI' was rather enjoying himself. He would never admit it to the others in his Marine team but he enjoyed mechanics almost as much as assault. It was all about a problem that you needed to over come with tactics and force. The door, for example had been a matter off hammering the recalcitrant metal until it ran smooth. The light in the hold had been a far more complicated matter.
The there was the chief engineer. She was formidable, even for a human. She had forgotten to close her door when she had changed and that had proved much more distracting to him than he had thought possible.
Now she stood glaring at him with all the fire of a miss-firing RCS. He found himself hopping she would yell again soon. If only she would do it in Klingon so he could understand.
"jonta'voy vIQaprup," he said simply, continuing to twist the piece of metal piping into the desired shape. The simple translation was that he was ready to make the engines work. The subtler tone, lost on Tell, was that he referred to 'make ready' using 'rup' for a person, rather than 'beH' for a thing.
Tell screwed her eyes up to show her dislike at him being there. On more than one occasion she had caught him tinkering with something he shouldn't in the engine room. His job was looking after the cloak and nothing else. Though what on earth he was doing with a bent pipe in his hand was any ones guess.
"Have you been fiddling with the engines again?" she asked him
jaqwI' didn't bother to answer. He didn't fully understand the question. He banged the pipe a few times till it had the required curve and then went back to the open Life Support feed to reattach it.
Tell sighed Damn Klingons getting in the way as usual. Tell picked up her tool box and headed for the heart of the FHew and buried herself in her work.
