Darkness Dawning – Medical Prowess
by Sogh Germite Ephilom & HoD Ro' Matlh
Germite finished his scan of the crew. They had minor scrapes and abrasions. At least by Klingon standards they were minor. He knew that HIchop had stabilized Jason, but it wouldn't do to piddle around when Jason could lose his leg if Germite didn't work fast. He left the room and went down to sickbay, at least what passed for a sickbay on this old Klingon ship.
He saw that Jason's leg had turned pale from the lack of blood entering his leg. He loosened the tournaquit on the leg. Next, he removed the EVA suit that was covering the rest of Jason's body. Germite considered it to be a blessing that Jason had fallen unconcious. Germite quickly hooked Jason up to an IV to replace the blood that he had lost. He heard Jason groan, then his breathing sounded labored. Germite picked up a hypospray. At a glance, he set it for a painkiller. A moment later, Jason relaxed and his breathing fell back to normal.
Germite returned his attention to Jason's leg. It was serious. The only good thing was in the way the scarab injured him by destroying one layer at a time. Germite thought he could rebuild it using the reverse of the process. He picked up a protoplaser and set it to regenerate one layer at a time. After several layers were rebuilt, Germite paused and use a tri-laser connector to connect the old nerves with the newly built nerves.
The surgery was finally finished. Jason's leg had successfully been saved. As a last step, Germite picked up another hypospray and injected Jason with antibiotics.
