Re-born – Adapting

Lach dumped the spray pack he was carrying and drew his blade, aware that disruptors were already useless. He fingered at the grenade, attached to his jacket by May'bel. They each wore one as a "last resort". May'bel looked back down the corridor at the advancing drones. This was going to be tight fighting with little room to swing a blade. All the advantage was to the Borg.
Elsewhere...
"Nuq ghora'," [Your Orders?] Ru'fimohp asked again trying to keep his freeze weapon on the three working drones as well as those moving away down the corridor behind them. Marla kept her disruptor trained on the retreating drone backs. Thor'nan was crouched near the drone that was working inside the forcefield and still wore the remnants of a Starfleet uniform. The open conduit was so close he could almost touch it, but that would bring him dangerously close to the drone and his two buddies on the outer hull.
"Be patient, Bekk. You'll have a chance to fight soon enough. " said Thor'nan.
Through the gap in the Hull they saw a flash and the FHew careened past. It was taking hits on its shields from the Borg ship. For some reason it was not firing back.
Marla shook her head. "I do not understand. Why is our ship not fighting?"
Ru'fimohp growled, "Because they can't. Either the weapons are offline, or they are worried about hitting us. We need to complete this mission and get out, and to do that we need to find a way to drop this ship's shields."
Meanwhile...
May'bel spun his wrists to keep them loose as the Borg drone approached down the corridor purposefully. Suddenly there was a muffled cry from behind him. He spun to see the Drone they believed frozen was not. While their back's were turned it had stepped forward and wrapped one arm around Lach. It was trying to bring it's other arm to bear with the two Assimilation tubules extended, but Lach was gripping the arm and fighting back. He was loosing, and May'bel couldn't get a clean shot at the drone without hitting Lach..
Grimly, May'Bel reached out and grabbed at the grenade clipped to Lach's chest - flicking the catch with his thumb and pressing down firmly on the arming button. The borg would be taking no Klingon drones today.
The device began to beep, counting down it's nine seconds. Lach nodded in understanding and gratitude.
Meanwhile...
Standing on the gantry, looking our through the rent into space, Thor'nan, Marla and Ru'fimohp saw the FHew turn. For a moment it seemed to loose power then the Navigational array shone for a brief pulse.
The effect was almost instant. In front of the the forcefield that maintained the atmosphere vanished. With a sudden rush the Borg closest to the gap was plucked up and hurled out into space. Ru'fimohp was crouched and able to grab at the gantry floor. Thor'nan who was facing froward had enough warning to reach out as he was lifted off the gantry and grab at the broken piping to stop himself being pulled out.
Marla however was facing the opposite direction and taken completely by surprise. One moment she was watching the Borg move away down the corridor, the next she was sailing through the rushing air as if the gravity plating had been spun 90 degrees. She flailed desperately at the air and suddenly felt her grip caught. Hanging over the abyss she looked at Thor'nan who was holding her with one hand, while his precarious grip of the pipes began to slip.
Elsewhere...
Suddenly there was a noise, and the lights around the ship turned off for an instant. The Borg drones faltered and fell to the floor. Lach and May'bel looked at each other in shock and surprise. Unfortunately, whatever had affected the Borg Drones had NOT disabled the grenade which continued it's beeping.
Lach frantically clawed at his chest, plucking the grenade up and hurling it as far down the corridor as possible. It exploded mid arc and suddenly all the two could see was a wall of red surrounding them as they were engulfed in flame.
