By the Time Ro's group reached the front door the three figures in suits were already there. Ro's was carrying the incumbent HoS over his shoulders and the weight was slowing even Ro' down. The Lone Marine was covering his retreat. He looked at the suited trio.
"Report!"
Leah glanced to the others then spoke up "Bit of structural damage, gas coolant leak and it seems the self defense turrets are funtioning just fine. We would have looked further but it seems the power that runs those turrets isn't along the same powergrid as the blast doors, field interity sensors or life support systems. Tell can give you the specifics if you really care. If we could muscle our way to a central computer system it would probably at least give us needed info off their data banks, such as access codes."
"Specifics?" shrugged Tell "Since when have I been asked to give specifics? Well we can't get any further is that specific enough for you." she snapped and then thought about it some more "I suppose I could jury rig something back at the FHew. It might fool them for a while enough to give us time to get past them. Could take some though and I could end up making it worse by getting us killed."
Tell looked around her wondering if there was anything lying around here she could use.
The group looked out the door towards the space between them and the cloaked FHew. They could see a lone figure in powered armour but no one else. One of the bikes was moveing rapidly towards them, but as they watched it was taken appart in a matter of moments by the heavy bore weaponry mounted on the roof of the facility.
Ro' put HoS on the ground and muttered, "We need to find a way to shut those guns down if we are to get back to the ship. Time is tight as well. In just under an hour and a half teh sun will set and the surface temerperature will plumet."
He pulled out his communicator.
,'. Jared. report your position. We are pulling out and need to find a way to shut down the external defences. ,'.
The communicator did not respond.
,'. Heghrup, report your position! ,'.
Still nothing. Ro' swore, "Qu Vatlh! We will split up. I will lead a team to retrieve Jared and Hegrup. If anyone can find a way to shut this stuff down it is him. I will take volunteers, but someone will need to stay with HoS. HIchop, that's you. Quickly now. WHo is staying here and who is coming?"
"Looks like I'm with you boss" replied Tell walking over to Ro'. Jared might need a hand she thought. If any one could sort this out he could.Plus she might learn something.
Just at that moment there was a hoarse yell and an armoured figure threw itself through the door, landing next to HoS. Marie's voice could be heard through the Comm's.
"These suits are useless," Marie said over the babble of voices from inside the suit. "They won't fire at the defences but...the defences don't seem to be firing at me. We need someone back at the ship. I'll provide cover. If I stay between that person and those damn turrets, you should be safe."
Leah glanced around the area "Might be wise to have someone checking the ships sensors, we already had one suprise and who knows what else got activated" Leah glanced up to the sky for a moment "Also I could already plug in coordinates for us to get out of here quickly if need be."
Ro' considered, "Allright, listen! Maire, you are to run cover for Leah. Get her back to the ship and report to Haylegh. get anyone else who is doing salvage out from the open and back to the ship. Don't move the ship unless you have to. we don't know what will trigger and attack and we know some of those auto-defense satelites could track us while we were cloaked."
"HIchop, stay here with HoS and do what you can for him."
"Tell, Beq and I will head after Jared and try and get things shut down before nightfall."
"Any Questions? Qapla'!"
