Bloody Captain – The Bloody Captain, the Solution

The Bridge shook again as Ro’ entered. Jared leapt from the Command chair for him to take his rightful position at the Science Station at the rear starboard side next to HoS who had regained his feet and had reconfigured Operations to work as Tactical as his panel was still broken.
“Report!” Ro’ bellowed.
"We're under attack!" Jared responded, shouting over the alarms. "Three vessels, armed with disruptors, each about three quarters our size. They came out of the nebula and opened fire without warning. My guess is some kind of pirates."
Ro’ shot him a look, then to the forward starboard side where Leah was sitting at the Navigation panel, “There was no pirate activity on our projected course. Where are we?”
Leah's eyes ran across the navigation controls bewildered, she had figured out at least three of the klingon symbals so far. Luckily she was able to bluff enough given she knew this area of space a bit. "On course entering through the Taris Corridor, no reports of any other ships previously en route in the region. The nebula.." Leah was stopped mid sentence and cluched the console.
The ship shook again, “Weapons! Return fire! What is our status”
Marla was standing at the rear port station used for Engineering, Damage Control and Life Support. She, like HoS had been woken by a dose of stimulant from Jared’s borrowed Hypospray.
Marla was not extremely happy at this moment. She had just been knocked unconcious, and the guy who had done it is pretending that it never happened. She replied with a slight scowl and a hint of anger in her voice.
"Except for the shields being slightly weakened, everything is still in working order."
“Thank you, Lagh. Set power to forward shields.”
It took Marla a moment to realise he was still talking to her. Had she just got a promotion?
Ro looked over his right shoulder, “Helm, keep us between the two cruisers. That way cross fire will risk hitting each other.”
"Re`Vhie`hoas Glek!" [Ancient Rihan form of address to a superior - not nessasarily nice.] Hay'Legh muttered as she adjusted the broken arm that she had tucked into the front of her jacket as a makeshift sling. "We are in position, La'."
Ro’ signalled the communications Beq next to Leah for an internal channel.
,’. Ro’ to Marie. Get the Marines and lock down the cargo hold. We may have raiding boarding parties. ,’.
,’,On to it. Marie out.,’,
She hobbled out of her hole. As she moved and circulation returned to cramped muscles, her movements improved. By the time she was out of the crawlspace she was almost normal again: almost. She knew they’d be a price to pay when she cooled down but that depended on getting the chance to cool down. First, get the marines stationed, then worry about what might eventuate.
The door at the back of the bridge opened and HIchop half carried Tell in. “Reporting for duty, La’”
Ro’ nodded and indicated the broken panel over his left shoulder, “Get back to fixing that, Tell.”
Tell mumbled something that sounded like an insult as HIchop eased her onto a chair. He passed Tell her repair kit and she got to work. Through half lidded swollen eyes she sorted out the mass of tangles and congealed wiring with practised long slender fingers that should have belonged to a dancer and a musician rather than an engineer, but that's what she did she 'fixed things'.
Ro' glanced down at his right side which was flowing blood freely from the knife and scalpel wounds.
“Soghla’ HIchop. Tend to the injured,” He gestured over at Hay’legh who was supporting her damaged knee and arm by bracing against the Helm panel.
Meanwhile...
Marines. Where are the Marines? Damn! I’m going in the wrong direction...but....if I go back the other way and Matlh is there....
Something triggered inside Marie’s head, something she’d been actively repressing.... It was Matlh’s voice which was giving orders. To be sure, there wasn’t much difference between Matlh in a drunken rage and Matlh the commendable commander but somewhere between the two lay a person who could admirably – she chose the word carefully – command a starship. The trick – as she was quickly coming to realise – was to judge between the various aspects of his personality. That and....maybe....
I wonder.... She continued in the wrong direction.
