Alligences 1 – Trouble Brewing...
by Soghla' Jared & Eredh Hay'legh & Soghla' Terri (Tell) Hope
Jared ran into the briefing room, coming to an abrupt halt as he saw Tell and Hay'legh together, finishing up Tell's training.
"Well... that's... rather convenient!"
"Eredh, I think we might have trouble brewing. A woman approached me in one of the Public Houses plying me with drink and asking lots of questions about the F'Hew. She wanted me to come to a private party with a few friends - and was kinda specific about wanting Tell there. She seemed particularly interested in Tell."
"She was?" Hay'Legh rasied an eyebrow. "Have you informed the Captain that someone is sniffing around his engineer?"
"Um... I did try to tell Ro about it. He ordered us to fire torpedoes on the Breen ship and then fell over. Given we haven't seen a Breen ship in a couple of years at least... I'm not sure he's up to helping us at the moment."
Tell was puzzled "Me? who on this planet would be interested in me?" she asked "I don't know any one here except maybe a trader or two. What did she look like" thinking that she might know her from somewhere else.
Jared fumbled for descriptive terms.
"Umm... Tall... Blonde... Female... Human looking... Your species isn't particularly distinctive, I'm afraid."
"What should we do? We don't know what they might want at this point, but we at least know where they'll be. If we don't go, they'll know we're onto them and they might try something else that we DON'T know about."
Hay'Legh looked at Jared while wiping beads of sweat from her brow. She then looked at Tell. "We know they are interested in Ne' Hope, what we need to know is if it is Hope herself they are interested in or something she has or knows." The Rihan's gaze haredened on the engineeer. "Did you do anything today, ANYTHING at all that might have attracted someone's attention? Or have you seen someone that you recognised?"
"I was walking back to the FHew after meeting a Trader I used to work for. The funny thing was he was so interested in giving me his ship and just asking for a ride to Risa in return. Turned him down of course because I knew there would be more to it than that" she paused before going on "I have been looking for some one for a long time, my brother Jamie and I was looking through the crowds in case I saw him and then I saw a ship that I hoped I would never see again. It was the Cygnet" Tell shook her head in disgust "My husbands ship"
"Your husband? Are you sure it's still his?"
"It was his but I cant be certain if it still is. I left him on our wedding night, I just wish I had put a knife in his back before I went"
"You'll know better next time," was all Hay'Legh said. She was starting to feel a little warm, maybe the CO2 scrubbers were starting to play up. She glanced at Jared and sighed. "I think we three should go, with some BeQ's as 'escorts'."
Tell looked from Jared to Hay'legh "I don't think I'll go" said Tell beginning to walk away aware that she was being awkward. "I'm not very good in crowds and open spaces for long. I have a lot to do here anyway with ... things"
The Rihan rolled her eyes. "You need to be there. It is no use us going if you don't."
"If you like," Jared volunteered cheerfully, "I can rig up your communicator as a panic button. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Then if you doubletap it, it'll signal the F'Hew transporter to beam you onto it's transport pad."
"Means if you find yourself getting too freaked out, you can zap yourself out at any time."
"It looks like I have no choice but to come, thanks...." replied Tell
