In the belly of the Whale – Bored In My Quarters
by Sogh Marla Varquis
Marla was walking around her cabin trying to figure out what to do. She had just finished reading that great book Blacksun by the wonderful author Becky Crass, and now she didn't have anything to do. She started singing part of a Klingon Opera. She didn't know which one, but it was stuck in her head, and she recognized it as a song from one of the many Klingon Operas. Finally she decided to pull out her Concertina and play that. She started playing a song that her father told her was her mother's favorite song, Ave Maria.
She was glad to play this song. She was not a big fan of Opera, and wanted that song she had out of her head. She finished playing, and now had Ave Maria stuck in her head. She was of course now back to being bored. She walked around the room, did a couple of flips to keep herself limbered up. Then she went to look at her shelves to see if there was another book to read. She found one, a biography of those American Bank Robbers Bonny and Clyde. She sat down, and started to read it.
