Karina sat at the desk, out of breath. She had been sparring with Je'nar, Mistress of House Mal'kor. Karina had learned how to fight at a young age; most Orion females did; and Je'nar found her a challenge, as her Orion fighting style was very cunning compared to the more up front and physical style of Klingons.
"On screen. " she said, and smiled as her husband's face appeared.
"My lady. " he said.
"I see you've picked up another scar. " she said.
He grinned. "Indeed. But I have a task for you; I've spoken to HoD Ro', my Commanding Officer. He's agreed to have a look at Tierk. He may be allowed to join the crew of the FHew. " he said.
"I still am not sure he's ready for that; he wants to be a warrior, but he hasn't performed the Rite yet. " she said.
"I'll be on Qo'nos in a week or so; he'll be ready for the Rite then. Tell my father Ro' is coming; he'll be pleased. And there's another matter we should discuss, as Tierk's parents. "
"What matter is that, Husband? " she asked.
"TorvaD assassinated a man who was the father of one of the FHew's crew members. Now her House has no leader. She might consent to marry Tierk and allow him to run her house. That would mean a better future for him. " said Thor'nan.
"I see. Your role in this? " she asked.
"I will teach him, as will she. And I'm sure my HoD' will help us in this endeavour. " said Thor'nan.
