Jason had been curious about Soghla' Jared since he came aboard and he had become even more curious when he saw Jared during the fight. All he knew about him was that he was old and he was a TIQ. What that meant he had no idea so he decided to ask around. It seemed like a good idea to start with the XO Soghla' Hope. When Jason walked into the engine room he bumped is head. "Ouch dammit that hurt." He said as he rubbed the fast swelling spot on his forehead. When he finally found Tell he waited until she wasn't busy then spoke.
"Can I ask you something ma'am?"
"You can ask. " she replied putting some instruments down she was using to face him. "Something wrong with your head Flyboy?"
"What can you tell me about Jared?"
"He's, well.. well... just old, really old I think. He's a TIQ what ever they are, does sciencey type things though I'm not sure what." Tell paused for a few seconds while she thought about what it was that Jared actually did. "Makes good models and oh and he can hold a tune, I'll give him that." Tell picked up an oily rag and cleaned something that Jason didn't recognise but no doubt was important. "Other than that... sorry I haven't a clue."
Jason thought for a moment. "I only ask because I went to the HoD asking him to train me to fight better. He set me the task of fighting a Sogh and gaining their approval. I don't have to win just have them agree I am ready to be trained by him. Then I am to fight a Soghla' and again gain their approval. After that the HoD will train me. So, I am trying to decide who to fight."
Tell shrugged she had, had a belly full of fighting and her hunger had been sated for now. She wasn't in the mood and had better things to do, she wanted no part of this. "Why don't you ask Jared he's approachable."
"Because I want to know what others think of him too." Jason replied.
"He's Jared! he's ok." Tell answered matter of factly as if she was stating the obvious.
"Alright I get the idea. I'll go talk to someone else." Jason turned and walked out.
